@yourmamac Actually its the other way around, TRUE science is open for change. Its the religious who are arrogant and claim to have the answers. But when you are dying of cancer, God is not the one people seek, They turn to medical science for aid. And pray after. As for morality... ALL cultures of all people know right from wrong in their own sence, it's called Empathy. Most people know not to hurt anyone else, because they themselves know how it feels. I am an Atheist and have never stolen.

@yourmamac Things thatt you cannot explain rationally are no proof of anything. ALL religions claim to experiance supernatural events. This includes faiths that deny Jesus and even religions that worship the earth. Anyone who believes in something, is constantly looking for it. A child can truly believe monsters exist under their beds, and they intentionally look for them, and when a shadow streaks across the floor, that is all the evidence the child needs. The mind is a truly powerfull thing.

@travman1987 as for exorcisms I have seen with my own eyes things i could not explain rationally although i tried. My ex wife would testify in court to this day that she expierienced the same things. There is no doubt in my mind there is life after death. With that being said there is more to reality than we can verify by science through our 5 sense's. We are limited by the restrictions of our sense's and that will not change, but reason and logic can and will lead to a belief in the God.

@travman1987 you may point to the crusades or whatever else but the fact is they where christian in name only. Jesus taught love and tolerence not spread your religion by the sword. science is subjective and can only lead to the arrogance you find in people who think they have all the answers instead of being ready to learn and grow daily. IF the bible is a fairy tale whats the point of morality? If no one is watching why not cheat steal and lie to get as much fun as possible? Why love at all?

@travman1987 expressly says slavery is wrong it attacks the very core of the institution. If you treat someone as your brother they cant be your slave. Furthermore slavery was used to disrupt or destroy corrupt cultures and God didnt spare the Hebrews when they stopped doing right as a culture. Look at all the evil around you these days, doesn't that weigh on you? You think stamping out religion will fix that? Maybe with some of the more violent ones but christianity is a religion of peace

@travman1987 I agree you cannot treat the bible like a buffet and your right it is all or nothing. However Jesus treated women as equals in every way other than apostleship. Did He choose an apostle to appear to first after His ressurection,, no it was Mary. Two women where the first to find his empty tomb. He healed women and preached to them and if we take it for granted that every soul has equal value to its creator than that attacks not only sexism but slavery also so while the bible never

@yourmamac You cannot treat the bible like a buffet, choosing all the parts you like and agree with. You either have to accept that it is truth or that it is myth. The bible teaches us to keep the women of our enemies as sex slaves. It teaches us that slavery is "Okay" Sure there are some wise verses with good intentions. But in reality it is nothing more that a guide to living for ancient man.When humans discoverd mental retardation and illness, Excorsism slowly died out. the rest will in time

@travman1987 All the knowledge of Science comes from man, man wrote the bible. People have known very amazing scientific facts long before the modern world. The chinese for example knew about the stars and heavens over 6 thousand years before christs birth. Are you saying that a god gave man scientific evidence such as wind having weight. But at the same time, the same exact god gives us "Bad science" such as the earth being the center of the universe, or that animals can speak.
