Olean sugar mill in Situbondo, Java (Indonesia) is still powered by stationary steam engines and steam locomotives still bring in the cane from the fields on a narrow gauge railway. This clip is from our DVD Sweet Spot, recorded between 2004 and 2006. See http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/dvd/isvideos.htm for details.

  • Do ya think O.S.H.A. would approve !, if they had to deal with th kind of regulation we do they would not have a job. Look at those old plants they are 100% efficient, they use the wast product for fuel.

  • Interesting if boring work. Not the place to be if you are not fully awake.
