This is my first video diary of attempting to overcome balloon phobia. I'd like specially thank everyone who helped me with this, and all the support I have been given along the way. Special thanks to Sneaks01, Luke, Matt, Tim, Louise, the UK Looners Forum owned by Morphius, and everyone who have given me kind encouraging words. On top of that I'd like explain a little what I did here, to help budding phobics to overcome their fear. The small balloon acts as a pilot light, and is to adjust to the concept of a balloon popping, not the size or the volume of sound. The second, third, were increasing the scale to get up to popping bigger balloons. The fourth one was a stomp because it's the loudest way to pop a balloon, and also takes the most aggression. The idea of this exercise was to end up popping the biggest balloon by stomp. The other Unique 16" balloons were to get used to the large balloon popping. The stomp then followed as I mimicked what I had done before. If you'd like to ask any questions or... put forth ideas for future attempts, please do so! I also wore hearing protection for this video.

  • Great work so far! I'm impressed you can stomp, especially the big 16"s. And they pop the first time when you stomp — how do you do that? :)

  • You have to make sure your foot is along the balloon not across it. Then your foot won't go either side of it, thats how you get the most pressure.

You can't do half measures either, really go for it :D

  • @Valedc03ls It's nice of you to consider that. I used hearing protection during this video but it isn't visible since my head isn't in it much. The video description states my reason for doing this video - it's because I don't want to be afraid. Just because I don't like it, doesn't mean I should face the rest of my life in fear. That's my objective. Being influenced by poppers has nothing to do with it. :)

  • @thundaja Since you do state that you still enjoy not popping them, then that is what you should stick to. Please do not let the poppers try to influence you otherwise. I have had many poppers push their beliefs on me, and it was not good. Personally, popping balloons does not help your ears over the long run because it could lead to early hearing loss. I have had one friend who was a former popper but lost most of his hearing (Level 3) because of the noise. Please learn this lesson early :-) .

  • congratz on this big step i wish you more progress in the future :)

  • Aww so cool. So proud of ya matey *hugs

  • Yeah definitely!

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm taking a short break now because the constant high stress levels aren't good for me :(

  • Will you plan to take it to the next step in hopes of conquering that fear of yours. I know I have faith in you.

  • They wrapped around it, I love it when that happens! :D

  • Well done. Looks like the shards of the yellow balloon ended up in your foot. LOL
