No frills, no fancy moves, just straight simple explanation of the core of Muay Tha Chaiya's defense.
Part 2: Learn how to protect using the Bit elbows, and how to counter effectively with Beurt. Then bring it all together with Dop Hoo. I hope you enjoy, and remember, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
Thanks to Kru Lek, Kru Aof and Kru Yee for their help.

  • can you do a video on how to block punches aimed towards your body , let's say your chest, or stomach ?

  • @sdurgefafd I've just opened my new site which has over 100 videos teaching techniques, combos and drills for Basic and Beginner levels. (for now I'll give you this tip tho... as with most things in Muay Chaiya, the secret is in the elbows ;)

  • @8:50 how bout when they're straight punches not coming from the outside?

  • @brozac1011 this is the basic version for beginners, straight punches can also be parried by these moves but is a little trickier, body shots, knees and kicks can also be practiced once you've nailed the appropriate techniques.

  • I'm starting to take classes for muay thai but it seems like muay chaiya is what

i want to learn because it seems to be more for the streets if im not mistaken. im beginning to realize that the style im taking is meant for the sport but that isnt why i joined. i live in a bad area so thats what i need it for. would combining

the defense of muay chaiya and the attack of muay thai be possible? is there

even a big difference in the two? any info would be great. thanks

  • @mel2thegibson You can use the chaiya defense in conjunction with many styles, as it's practicality is easy to work with and effective. The Chaiya offense is based on principles of body mechanics that are the same as the defense and so everything fits seamlessly.Using another style of attack takes practice, and there maybe movements/mechanics that don't fit so well. If you're working with ring muay thai techniques use the Muay Chaiya to counter and then finish with knees, elbows and clinch.

  • I love the Thai culture. The martial arts portion was a bonus. (Grew up watching Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan) I just discovered Tony Jaa not too long ago and have been researching for 5 months Muay Thai Boran. I love everything about it. I plan to mix Muay Chaiya if it hits the states soon and Wing Chun together because of how the movements are so related you could use Wing Chun speed and Muay Chaiya elbows even faster to take down anyone who opposes you.

  • Fucking impressive

  • Great work guys! Thanks

  • Awesome video.

  • I would love to learn muay chaiya! Thx for the video man

  • @randyds5 It is awesome! I love the art, it's just a shame that no one here is available to teach me and this kind of art isn't as intuitive to me as say KFM or Krav Maga to which I can learn on my own.
