Guys, this is magnificent!

Usually Youtube covers suck. But you guys did great. Totally captured emotion of song. Pedal steel makes the dif.

Well done fellows - I particularly like the pedal steel and as Mike Nesmith sometimes played just acoustic guitar and pedal steel I think he'd appreciate this.
Iain Matthews did a version of this song on his Valley Hi album (1973) with virtually Nesmith's band, including Red Rhodes. The album was produced by Nesmith.

That was pretty damn good, fellas

I've only the Rhino compilation of Mikes
very cool stuff - its called "The early years" or something
thankfully it has Some of Shellys Blues, tho no Good Clean Fun!
I haven't heard anything about Rhino reissuing deluxe past the 1st four albums; guess those and the Missing Links albums aren't really flying off the shelves
Davy has been playing here recently in NYC though. So has Micky too, considering..

Wow! That was great! You captured the essence of the song but made it your own. Bravo!
-
Great you guys!!! Very good version, I love country music.

Great cover!! Best one on youtube so far!!
well, my mind is blown
Tear the top off my head!
can't believe you did this one... I don't think Nes ever did it solo even (unlike Shellys, etc)

Actually he did it on the Nevada Fighter album, as well as in concert. Check the "Live At the Palais" lp for an example.
Now as far as "Tear the Top Right Off My Head" goes, we'll get it in there sometime soon.
