While not a test completely without variables this test was designed to give a rough comparison of reception between the Apple iPhone 4, Apple iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
In my opinion the reception on the Apple iPhone was slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. There was a few occasions where the Apple iPhone had signal where the Samsung Galaxy Nexus had none. However, on one of the tests the Samsung Galaxy Nexus had seemingly no reception although was still able to load a web page.
- All phones operate on the Australian Telstra Next G (850 MHz) Network.
- My phone is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus so no bias intended.
- Test was done in a few locations within about 200 meters.
- Trial occurred where coverage was weak in a fringe location where service was minimal.
- The battery on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus died in a hurry when having little service (my guess is the constant network searching)
Thanks to Nige and Jim for lending me their iPhones.
I heard there is an error in signal bar strength on the galaxy nexus to why it loads data even when it looks like it has no signal, Google is coming out with an update to fix the signal bar strength accuracy

@DonnyDon90 Sounds good if they can do that.
The battery dies quick on this phone when in areas of no signal.
