1953 Wrestling at the Forum

The Forum was the place for hockey, boxing, and wrestling. Built in 1923, it was destroyed by fire in 1967.

The crowds lining up on the ashes, breath puffing out in front of their noses, the snow banks, a soft yellow from the lights, the smell of the Forum when you entered, a strong perfume of onions and hamburgers from the counters laced with a whiff of ammonia from the plant and the smell of the cold."
