File Upload User Interface

Having intuitive interfaces is important for quality web design because if users dont' have usability... they won't be users for very long. You've got to do the job right.

File path should always be a hidden field.
Submit should occur as soon as that field is provided with a value.

These two small changes eliminate the file path field, the 'browse' button, and leaves you with an easy to use 'upload file' button.

This is so simple, but so many web designers get it wrong. It will make a big difference for your site, and give that glossy web 2.0 feeling and new car smell that all users love.
