Very nice melody, like many other Japanese melodies. But this one was probably composed during the Japanese occupation of China in the 1930s and the 1940s. Perhaps they were admiring their newly-won mainland which formed part of their empire. I think we need to be more selective in adapting Japanese melodies into Chinese songs.

this is a japanese melody with cantonese lyrics. This nice song brings me a lot of nostaligic feeling back to the life of Hong Kong poor man's open space night-club in early 70s. i miss the years of hon g kong from 1970s to 1980s.
