@thegauntlet2001 Your point is valid. The 2nd film's script lacked for nothing; it was the STORY that didn't measure up. But the saga's production values, including the music, arguably improved with the 2nd chapter.

1:34 is the sad part....i mostly think of the girl i like....but she had kissed another guy sooo....this song helped me overcome anger......karate kid is awesome

I just watched this again for the zillionth time yesterday...they should have stopped after this movie and never made part 3 or The Next Karate Kid...not nearly ad good as the 1st 2 at all...

Still hard to listen to. Reminds me of Dad before he got ill............
I don't know why but even as good as the soundtrack is in the first movie , i still think the music score in the second movie is more epic.

This movie is another masterpiece in this wonderful franchise. Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita were brilliant as always. Tamlyn Tomita and Danny Kamekona were great too but I still missed Macchio's screen mother, she was very impressive in original movie. Anyway, The Karate Kid 2 was great sequel. They put more philosophy in it plus we can find out more about Miyagi's origin. I miss the 80's
