They are asking you to fail with this device tho... as you are likely/, inevitably going to but the two disks together from the same batch from the same shop. This increases the likelihood of the drives either failing early, together, or failing in their service life at the same time. Ideally they should advise buying two randomised discs, from different mfrs. this is old hat now tho.

It only does XRAID. Effectively just RAID 1, so it's only single drive or mirrored.

and also does it support raid 0? it is unfortunate if it only uses the 2nd HD for backup... Max capacity?

Anyone know if you can use both HDDs as separate HDDs or are you forced into using RAID?
