You are right, it is a landsprout. A landsprout is a type of tornado.

At 6:50 or so you can see the helicopter from one of the news crews pulling real close to the funnel. I am not sure that was a brilliant idea. I am going to try and take the full resolution video and zoom in on that one part and post it.

It was actually the wind. lol. Sort of swirling around our house, nothing very heavy just a light breeze.

It was not super windy. Might have been the road, or it was just the wind whipping through the back of the house.

There is one part where the news camera (looks like a little speck) came flying in towards the cloud and then high-tails it out of there. That was pretty brave.
