I took my Spanish Mustang mare to a clinic for gaited horses with Connected Riding instructor, Diane Sept last weekend.

Cora did very well and it was interesting comparing the various gaited breeds. There were Icelandics, TWHs, Mountain horses and a Peruvian Paso.

Cobriza is in foal to Paisano SMR 3313 for 2008 and is for sale. Visit http://akalranch.com/ for more information.

  • My mustang mare has a gate like this, but her canter is somewhat jarring/rough. Is it because shes gated? Is there a workaround for it?

  • Cora has a comfortable canter. It is quick and doesn't have a lot of suspension, but it is smooth. Maybe your horse is still learning balance?

  • Beautiful and soft !

  • Balance- That could be it. All things considered, she's still a somewhat new horse. :-)

  • A wonderful example of Spanish gaits. The semi pace you see if it were ped up would be a wonderful Largo. The slower quicker gait is the Corto. PLus she is multi gaited with a beautiful trot. Do not work her formthew trot it creates aan impure spanish gait that mimmicks a fox trot or runnig walking but is not her natural gait. Its bouncy and rough and she will get tired of it., ; )S
