Was it intended, or just coincidence you used a copy of Fight Club with the movie promo cover? But seriously, though, you're absolutely right. It's worth looking closely at the commodification of our culture. I hear stories of stealth marketing, product placement slipped into blogs, even fake conversations in crowded places endorsing product X.

I have about 3 bookshelves worth of books. I first thought of using the Fight Club book, but was hesitant because of the cover. But then i thought about the movie itself, and how despite it's anti-consumer message, there's pepsi logos throughout the flick. I'm a big fan of irony, so I decided to use it anyways.

Very funny yet hypocritical. Sure some people are wasting all of five minute every other day each week watching the "adventures" of Lonelygirl15 but whose the guy uploading a video blog? Theestranger (cheap Hunter Thompson wannabe)?
It was funny though.

Oh and the mask was in fact inspired by Fear and Loathing, but the filter is something I've used for the last 5 years to reduce the amount of tar I'm putting in my lungs.
The persona is my own, and I'm still trying to "find my voice" so to speak.
