Surgeon's spend as much as 50% of surgical time on controlling bleeding. Current tools used to halt bleeding include clamps, pressure, cauterization, vasoconstriction and sponges.
Hydromending gel when used as a spray for low level bleeding, such as suture sealing is highly effective. When the hydromending gel is used in conjunction with surgical foams, it can control mild bleeding. Used with clamps it can stop bleeding in heart tissue.
