A good question for you is to ask those folks at Autism Speaks is why they never let autistics speak at their rallies. Example, Donna Williams, international best seller and author of 9 books, was denied time to speak at the Tampa Fl. Rally in November of 2006. Excuse they gave was that a financial supporter who was an author wanted to speak, but they never did. Hmm...makes you think.

Thanks for the awareness for autism because my 15 yrs old boyfriend has autism plus Down Syndrome. I am 17 yrs old with Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy.,

I have some issues with some things you say (and some things lots of people say).

Autism may or may not be growing as a disorder. The diagnosis of autism is growing.

It's not a devastating diagnosis for everyone.

Autism does not always start before the age of three. Some children get autism much later. Some people call this "Child Disintegrative Disorder", but it's on the spectrum.

Don't worry, the nation is coming together to find a cure!

If you see an autistic child in a negative light, you will have a negative experience in raising him or her. Organizations like Autism Speaks cannot be trusted. They would rather make people such as myself face the buisness end of a loaded gun than offer to help us when we really need it. Organizations like Generation Rescue cannot be trusted either because they exploit people like myself to gain money like the snake oil sales people that they are.

The CAUSE is vaccines. They will tell you anything and everything to make sure you dont know this. Take your child to a chiropractor, a doctor not bound by the dirty medical system to continue doing this to babies. Mary Tocco and Dr. Moulden would be a good start. Bless your child.

lots of questions, does she speak? Does she have a problem with loud sounds? Is she able to play with toys? My grandaughter is in the process of getting an offical diag. She is 3 and barely speaks, has meltdowns, and rages, she has picked up sign very quickly, dosen't play with toys, LOVES music, and anything Disney. Hates the swiming pool, and going to the lake. she looses all expression when she goes out, stone face. Dosen't respond to her name either..
