Foil Fencing - USFA Reg Youth Circ - Y12 Q-Final - Val Italo

Y12 US Fencing Assn Southeast Regional Youth Circuit held at Birmingham Fencing Club, Birmingham, AL. Val Italo (at right), age 10, ranked #8 in Georgia pre-teen foil, versus an 11 year old, ranked #5 in this best 2 of 3 bout quarterfinal direct elimination. Both fencers are from Atlanta Club Northeasts

This was an excellent match. Val was down 2-3 in the first bout and won it 5-3. He also came back from 0-3 in the second bout to win 5-4 and advance to the semi finals.

This is Val's first tournament win against this fencer, who is one of Georgia's most promising young foil talents. Val placed 3rd in this tournament and qualified for the nationals in Y12 foil.
