WUSA 9 - Elis Kertusha Got Scared - Gennaro Fato Murder

Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at approximately 9:57 p.m., Montgomery County Police 4th District officers responded to the 3600 block of Martin's Dairy Circle in Olney for a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival they found Gennaro James Fato, 74 years old, deceased in the area of the home's garage. The preliminary investigation revealed that just prior to the assault, Gennaro Fato had picked up his wife from the T.J. Maxx store in Olney. He and his wife had just arrived home when he was confronted and shot by unknown suspects. His wife escaped unharmed and called 911 reporting the incident.

The family of Gennaro Fato is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and/or conviction of those responsible for this murder. Please call 240-773-5070, you may remain anonymous. Reward is offered for 180 days starting 2/1/2008.
