@waywardmuse Your observations are invaluble to the scientific comunity as still little is known about this lizard.I was doing some first time desert herping(just observations) in the Sonora NM, east of Freeman,went down a rough road(got a flat) and just walked aways from the car.observed 1.unidetified skink,1.Spiny desert Lizard(pretty cool)and 1.juvinile western Diamond back in an area the size of a living room.air temp was 75dg.overcast spradic light rain.I wish I could go back with a guide.

you are VERY lucky to get to see these beautiful creatures on a realy basis, i am very jelous! i have lived in a desert area of arizona for 10 years and only have seen one in the wild! Amazing footage great job!

Thank you, that was great. I was looking for videos of Gilas in courtship, because I just watched a pair 'do their thing' for maybe 30 minutes just feet from my land near Wikieup, AZ. I got the best of it on video and took some pics. I've never seen Gilas courting, and it was really a thrill. I will edit it into a short movie and upload it to my channel: marjamada but I was hoping to learn more about their courtship before doing so. Know a good source? Thanks again for a cool video.
