  • Great looking car! I love the exterior color. Was this a factory color? Judging by the design, it appears as if this was the sister of the Impala. Is that correct? I didn't even though there was such a thing as a Starfire until recently. Thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for the compliment.. This Starfire was originally painted provincial white, but I had it repainted madeira maroon a '65 Chevelle colour, similar to garnet mist (an original '62 Starfire colour.) At the time Oldsmobile was a separate division within GM...and not related to Chevrolet.

  • NICE OLDS

  • Thank you.

  • I love your narration, You sound like the voice over guys that did the commercials back in the 60's. Is that breather on your drivers side valve cover added on?? My starfire only has a blowby tube that drops down out of the passenger side valve cover.

  • The old blowby tube was replaced with a PCV valve system which burns crankcase gasses rather than depositing oil on the roadway. It's a much more efficient system. The addition to the valve cover is a PCV valve.

  • This guy comes home from work, walks in the door and asks his wife:

"Who's the stud making all the neighborhood women shave their mustashes?"

Well...i'm not shaving anything for you -- but I will tell you one thing... I wouldn't kick your car out of my garage, that's for sure.

  • Dude, do u do voiceovers and/or narrations for a living? : )

As for showing the car off, l don't blame u one bit.

  • now 3 i bought another :)

  • 3 442's my mistake

    all oldsmobiles

  • i have like 4 star-fires 1961 1962 2 cutlasses 2 super 88's 1 98 holiday and 2 442's and thats about it :) thank you for showing off your car

  • @forrestmunden My next car was a 1967 Camero. I bought it for $1,500.

  • I am 41 years old. I saved up to buy my first car for $460.00 in 1986. Yes, I bought a white Oldsmobile Starfire. I could not afford to put gas in it. It needed a carburetor adjustment and gas was too steep for a 16 year old. It was about 95 cents a gallon! Lol! I took my losses and sold it for 200.00 bucks. I wish I still had it. I remember the odmeter would change colors like a thermometer or "barbers pole" Green up to 35mph, yellow to 65mph, then red above 65mph. It was fast and cool!

  • Wow you did a good job restoring/building and/or designing it.

Very classy and evokes the glamour of the early sixties.

  • great voice.

  • Extremely nice car. I had a 1964 Olds 98 L/S with the 425 engine. They made the cars very good back in the day.

  • Gorgeous! Well maintainanced. The car is older than me.

  • you sound like a commercail guy 4 oldcars

  • one of GM best looking all time

  • my friend's dad had a ninety-eight starfire 2 door coupe...black with a red leather interrior.. drop dead gorgeous. yours is beautiful too in maroon. all these early high-end oldsmobiles were to die for.

  • You should be very proud of this car. The Though GM made many beautiful cars the 62 SF was one of the most beautiful. These were the days when cars had so much personality, I especially loved the way the front fender blended with the grill area. That kind of scoop look. Very effective. Made the front look like it was trying to extend on it's own. The interior was so detailed with tons of bright work.

I was 12 when your car was born, was car crazy then an still am.. Thnx 4 yr vid

  • Very Very Corny, but I love it. My fav of all the sixties

  • a classic...and the guy sounds like a radio announcer from the old days...awesome

  • I love that car. Looks nice and sounds nice :)

Also, Your voice sounds like them 50's car commercials.

    5/5

  • Very nice Olds. I have a 64. But it needs a lot...

  • Its a Beauty !!! I have the car, but it is Scale 1/18 ;) From Road Legends / Yatming.

  • Just gorgeous! The ventures playing is also a nice touch.

  • I owned a 1962 Starfire from 1969 to 1972. It was painted camco cream with fawn color interior. Great car. The 394 was a great motor but that slim jim hydro was a very bad transmission.

  • I grew up with my Dad owning one of these. I always wanted to get one. Ours was a Seafoam green color. I remember that car a bunch because when the 360 (or whatever motor) it had stock burned in Memphis in 1969, Dad had it replaced with a rocket 455. wow! I have always looked for one in fine shape like yours but never see one. Great car!
