Recording Mellotron Mandolins

So...Me and Matti Bye have been recording an album of Cirkus music. WE have been recording this last week and we now have 16 skeletons of songs ranging from very pastoral things to the slightly abrasive and borderline industrial. We have made this music quite simply because we felt like it.
We have no real plans for how to release it but we now that it will be some kind of release even it it is a limited edition thing.
2 Copies...one for me and one for Matti. Numbered and handpainted.

This album was recorded at Roth Händle studios and we have been really immersing ourselves into the oddest instruments and combinations. We have been using the Roth Händle pipe organ quite a lot and a lot of optical organs such as the Optigan and the Orchestron...We have also been using the celeste and the Mellotron a fair bit too...

This a MKII sound played on a M400. But yeah it really is a great sound...

well...we have never talked about Crimson but there might be stuff going on that is similar...

still great sound. I have a strange affection for the Mellotron, more the mighty mkII than the 400s and such

You can do a lot with the 400 to resemble the MKII as you might know. Miking amps, spring reverbs et.c One of these days I'll have a MKII not necessarily soon...but one of these days.

Mycket bra positiv-ljud! Jag diggar ju Körkarlen-soundtracket så det här bådar gott. Av sviten av youtube-videor att döma verkar det hela lite som ett koncept-album där alla ljud går igenom mellotronen lite som Malmbergs "Den gåtfulla människan" fast med mellotron istället för Hammond. Ser fram emot resultatet!
