In the desert state of Rajasthan near Jodhpur (India) is a little Vishnoi village situated where I join an Opium ceremony. The Opium is not pure but mixed with sugar and is thinned down. The region is known for its traditional use of raw opium in the form of amal or doda due to its climate and difficult living conditions. Opium is in many ways integrated into the socio-cultural fabric of the local community.
The man who prepares the ceremony in this video has a huge bumb below his right ear (check 03:48). That is why I am so anxious about a little bumb that starts to appear on my cheek. I'm holding the camera in my right hand and not aware that it's still taping... What a laugh!
