Quadrophenia is the sixth album by the English rock band The Who. Released on 19 October 1973, Quadrophenia is a double album, and the group's second rock opera. Its story involves social, musical, and psychological happenings from an English teenage perspective, set in London and Brighton in 1964 and 1965. The name is a variation on the incorrect popular usage of the medical diagnostic term schizophrenia as multiple personality disorder to reflect the four distinct personalities of Jimmy, the opera's protagonist—each said to represent the personality of one member of The Who. The title also referenced the Quadraphonic sound schemes then being introduced.

  • It's not the 6. Album, it's the 10. Album from The Who!

    1. My Generation

    2. The Who

    3. A Quick One

    4. Happy Jack

    5. Sell Out

    6. Magic Bus

    7. Tommy

    8. Live At Leeds

    9. Who's Next

  • Umm no not really. And why did you list Who's Next as number 9? Lol, wtf. And I'm pretty sure they didn't release an album just called 'The Who' after My Generation, lol. Here's how it went: 1. My Generation 2. A Quick One 3. The Who Sell Out 4. Tommy Then Live at Leeds, if you want to count that as an album 5. Who's Next 6. QUADROPHENIA 7. Who by Numbers 8. Who are You 9. Face Dances 10. It's Hard 11. Endless Wire

  • For me the Quadraphonia album is Townsends best work. Shows just what a great songwriter he was in his day.

  • I was at the Garden for their debut performance. Golden earings opened up for them doing a song no one had ever heard - called Radar Love! Seems like yesterday.

"Tommy" addressed religion, this went one step further and addressed self-actualization.

  • @Superboeller1 "Happy Jack" and "A Quick One" are the same album, I've never heard of one called "The Who", or "Magic Bus" (regional thing, perhaps?) Just too clear things up.

  • @MiddleEye512 ok, thank you, i know exactly the word here LoL

  • @RogellParadox Okay. Well, "rape" is non-consensual

  • @MiddleEye512 no, just cause i'm learning english, just it ;)

  • @RogellParadox There's a difference?

  • I can see why iTunes labeled this as Explicit. Still great though. ★★★★★.

  • @danning1 doesnt sound like a sour not to me. i think he sang it perfectly. its a much higher note than he usually sang before quadrophenia. petes song writing in this album really put rogers voice and range to the test and i think roger did brilliant singing all the tracks.

  • there aint no 'epic' on the 'your reaction' thing so i'll settle for 'incredible' :P

  • What a cool song by one of the greatest bands ever
