How can people compare the burning of Sodom and Gomarrah to an afterlife . Sodom and Gomorrah is a physical place burnt by literal fire which the smoke didnt last forever. The lake of Fire is an event not a place. its separation from God.Gehenna is an old dump for where dead people were laid with worms.This represent the grave. Those living in Gehenna represent the figurative portion of the lake of fire where many were on outside the city for a period.

Of course the rich man was a sinner for all have sinned including Lazurus who had the faith of Abraham or he would have been in hell too. Lazurus was not in heaven, he was in Abraham's bosom in the heart of the earth. It's also called paradise the place in the heart of the earth where Jesus went and preached to the spirits in prison I Peter 3:19 They were there til Jesus led captivity captive when he ascended on high Eph 4:8 No one can go to heaven without the blood as you will soon learn.
