Keating and Hawke will go down as the great PM's. The introduction of Super, float of the dollar and other reforms as the vid alluded to are with the mining boom the reason Australia is so well placed. Howard introduced a GST, which people often say was just a tax on this and that but it was substantial.
Gillard isn't bad her salesmanship is. A reckless stimulus package will be Rudd's legacy. In 10 years time the carbon tax will be viewed very positively. She will go down well in history.
The stimulus package actually worked, school scheme 97% efficient, and it got money into circulation as private spending was about to collapse. Despite problems, the insulation scheme will pay of in the long term.
These are just some of the achievements Gillard has been behind.
If she looses office, then maybe when the heat has died down, just like Keating was far more hated by the Libs than Gillard is (I do remember), the remaining question:
Will they apologise? Maybe the bravest PM of all ?
If what Abbott says about Keating, would he be so comfortable if Gillard hangs on enough and leave a legacy of EMS, getting a resources return for the Australian people, exposing the glamour of smoking tobacco, night access to doctors via phone, NBN that will revolutionise health, industry and entertainment (a BIG business), Gittens description that stimulus of the economy was mostly masterly, lifting min wage tax to $18,000, outlawing shonky lending practices, 1st nation-wide health agreeement.
@GanEdenAustralia No she did not. She had a different stance before the election with a majority. her stance was to have an emissions trading scheme. she could not have predicted a hung parliment. s she psycic you fool. no. when she got a minority government she had to negotiate a deal and this was it. like it or not there was no loe and no misinformation just different outcomes than were predicted. full fucking stop
(Part 3) Australia's Carbon Tax is $AU23/tonne while New Zealand' was $NZ15/tonne (or approximately $AU12/tonne. Meanwhile Minimum wage NZ is $13.00, Aust is 15.51. Meanwhile Petrol is $2.00/L, Butter $9.98/kg, Milk 2,33/L, Bread $3.79 (700g Loaf), Chicken Drumsticks $8.99/kg .... the list goes on!!! Meanwhile electricity costs are going through the roof ..... most of which is supplied by hydrodams
@theblackash (Part 2) A classic example of this was the other night when the 6.30 report blatantly distorted the truth about the impact of a Carbon Tax on New Zealand. They reported that there was no impact when the truth was there was and is a lot of pain. Unfortunately this was regurgited by people like you the following day as truth, while it was seen as a plain obfuscation by people who actually know what is happening within the NZ Economy.
@theblackash (Part1 ) .... do you realise that the current budget had a $10B hole in revenue in December .... only a few months after an election. Worse is to come!!! Morons like you are dime a dozen!!! You can't think for yourselves ... it is that simple!!! You listen to idiotic journalists, that have no understanding of economics, engineering, science or environment, who simply regurgitate Labor rhetoric and call it 'journalism simply because, like you, they cannot separate truth from fiction
