Synopsis

An astronaut is transformed into a murderous, gelatinous mass after returning from an ill-fated space voyage. His last words are celebrating the view of the sun through the rings of Saturn. Despite being several times farther from the sun than the Earth, somehow, we are led to believe, our astronaut gets exposed to solar radiation near Saturn that leaves him looking like he's been honeyroasted. Enjoy a snippet of stock footage from actual space travel during the incredibly disconnected intro.

After landing, the melting man is taken to the NASA hospital (which occupies stalls 28 through 48 at a Fresno California ministorage). Once the 'incredible' melting man comes to he goes on a rampage. Thanks to some exposition later on we find out our guy needs to replace the cells that are rapidly melting away. He gets these cells by eating people. Or, rather, parts of people.

And that's pretty much it. Also a general eats a turkey leg.

Warning: If you are allergic to the sight of spirit gum, this movie will cause a severe reaction.

  • That elderly couple are perhaps the most memorably incongruous characters in any MST3K film.

  • I have to say that I'm really disappointed that the old couple got killed off. I like them. Out of all the characters in this gooey, gross movie, they were the most fun.

  • {06:06}If I were Sylvester P. Smythe,I think I'd find that insulting.

  • "Its Mellow Countdowns of the Seventies..."

    "Heleeeen....

    Harollllld....

Crow: WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" LOLZ, my thoughts exactly.

  • Dammit! I really wanted to see the colorful, comedy relief of the elderly couple have dinner and interact with the dark, depressive, wooden characters of their daughter, her husband and the general.

  • "Oh god! We forgot our coffee discounts from burger king!"

  • So, she shouldn't eat candy during her pregnancy... but wine's a good idea! <_<

  • I have to stop and google a name like every minute

  • "Shut up, stupid water! Shut up!"

  • 7:50 what is happening :o
