Type 2 diabetes was once virtually unheard of in children. Now, thanks to the national obesity epidemic, pediatricians face an avalanch of cases that could usher in a generation with heart disease in their 20s and amputations in their 30s. In San Antonio, the disease is already striking eight- and nine-year-olds. Dr. Roberto Treviño's intervention program is one of the few in the nation that's slowing that trend.
