My late fiance was a USMC scout/sniper, You don't just show up and become one. You have to score high enough to be recommended to be "invited" to sniper school and pretty much score perfectly while you're there

@Mattieboy207 well actually there is a waiting list. you do have to be an expert and get a first class PFT. BUT when you choose to be a Scout Sniper after basic, some are sent to Scout Sniper School almost right after, and some wait 2-3 years to get a spot in Schout Sniper School
