whatever the circumstances, people will always find things to complain about,
problems are constantly fabricated by the petulant human mind (still bleary-eyed and reluctant as it is in its awakening (being conscious of one's limitations is probably not an easy thing to handle...
but the theme of this video is this: sensitivity adapts to the state of the situation...
which is to say,
the neighbour's greener grass is not a problem to the same degree when the intensity of the circumstances is relatively harsher,

there was a time when my great-grandparents had to surrender their crop, and usually they had to hand over more than they actually produced, so they had to buy the stuff, and hide some of it under the ground to secure food for themselves, unfortunately once their neighbour informed the patrolling soldiers and they had to suffer the consequences, (confinement)

needless to say, the condition of the grass is secondary in such circumstances, uprightness is more of a measure then

all in all, to be lost in a maze of nuisance is not necessarily a problem, it may even reflect the welfare of a system, but, we know, decency is something that should be maintained and nurtured
no matter what...

  • You look like a priest in that shirt...I was going to make a video about the Holodomor in the Ukraine...Not the anti-Jewish nonsense, but the way it was covered in the Western press, especially Walter Duranty's denial in the New York Times compared to the significant and hands on journalism of Gareth Jones and his attempt to expose the starvation

It could be a good study of consensus thought and why it's not such a bad idea.

ove your videos. I have the feeling that real thinking is going on

  • Thanks for the support 2b, I always appreciate your thoughtful comments, by the way, your G Bruno video was very informative, thanks for taking the time and making it

  • This is so inspriing Mark! Its good to be reminded that so often our life is a reaction to the 'ambiance' you speak of. Ah... to remember to step back and see the bigger picture - & be creative, not reactive, there.

    Beautiful.

  • It's great to hear from you Graham, I hope you are alright and powerful, and many thanks for your comment, as usual, your concise completion of my wriggling ideas is very irradiative, be creative, not reactive, there, beautiful

  • I was reminded of "A Day in the Life of Ivan Denissovich" by Solzhenitsin, when you were talking about the camp. I remember I read it at one sitting. If you can find it, people, read it, it can't be described.

It's always good to relate to people, more unfortunate than us, then you see your 'misfortune' in that perspective, and it becomes less of a 'misfortune'.

Very intelligent look at that topic - what is happiness... or unhappiness.

  • Thanks, I always appreciate your comments, I heard about Solzhenitsin but never read his books, but now you gave me an impetus to do so,

and yes, what counts as happiness in one moment, the scurry of a cockroach across the floor of a cell, is a source of unhappiness in another (across the kitchen floor)

sensitivity is very ductile and malleable

  • Beautiful video!!!

  • This is great. Please see The Wisdom of the Sands by Saint-Exupery

  • great vid

  • I think those who have experienced extreme difficulties throughout their lives, tend to be much more appreciative of the little things that most take for granted. When they are approached with an inconvienence they don't over react, as something small, such as the dirty clothing, is indeed very tiny when compared to some other scenarios. People complain about little things, but it could always be worse and there are many others worse off who probably don't complain at all, glad to be alive!

  • As long as you are primarily a product of your circumstances (pertaining to the age and place you live in), your difference from another will only be a difference in the circumstances that you two have been exposed to I wonder how differently would anyone of erstwhile Russia act and behave had he lived her/his life in these times!!!
