@cormackjames Thanks, the notes are probably right tho' maybe not in the right order and the rhythm's probably wrong, but it's a fine tune ;o)

Very different but very good, I like it, its god to hear outside the box sometimes. Well done!

Thanks, still needs quite a lot of work, but with a little care and attention, it could grow into something quite fun ;-)

That is some mighty awesome git-fiddle work there buddy -- not too close to the named tune but that doesn't bother me -- its a pleasure to listen to in its own right!1

Wow, This is definitely one of my favorites to play on Mandolin but the way that this one is arranged is amazing. I like the lack of "reel" feel to it. I feel like dippin' my feet in a river and soaking up everything that summer has to offer when I hear this version. And from reading your replies stop worrying about the timing, it's just dandy.

@negativepink Thanks very much. I've never been able to plays reels or jigs correctly - maybe it's in the genes, but that doesn't mean that I don't love the tunes :o)

cool. its very seldom "arrangements" of trad tunes sound anything other than wrong. this is the exception. bravo

@BrianJacksonTrad Thanks very much. I originally learned this tune on the mandolin from a fluteplayer who was half Breton and half Irish, so I'm pretty sure that at some time I learned it correctly. Then I heard this guitar arrangement on an album of Irish jigs and airs, produced by Stefan Grosman. I agree some arrangements are totally bewildering.

I like this arrangement, I've played in two other ways. You're welcome to listen to my rendition of Fisherman's lilt on my channel.
