  • Tyson vs. Douglas was the end for Mike Tyson as the world's unstoppable Heavyweight Champion.

Tyson's two fights with Holyfield were the end for Mike Tyson as a legitimate prizefighter.

This fight was the end of 'Mike Tyson' as a name that could bring big crowds and big money.

A rather sad career-ending span of 15 years for a man I consider to be one of the most iconic and compelling American athletes to ever live.

  • Mike Tyson. The most compelling sports personality of all time. Period.

Till the day I die I doubt any athlete anywhere will conjure up the raw electricity of a Mike Tyson fight from the 80's. I remember all of us chipping in to buy the fights in high school just to see what would happen.

  • @donkeykongcoin yeah but swarmer boxers have a short shelf life, specially one who was in and out of prison, that's not to take anything away from lewis tho

  • Sad that Lennox Lewis was denied the respect he deserved as the best fighter of the 90's and 00 until Mike Tyson finaly decided to stop run from "same era" rival Lennox Lewis anf ought him in 2002. Riddick Bowe dident want to fight Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson dident want to face Lennox Lewis but Evander Holyfield wanted to fight them all and that was the spirit those 2 should have had as boxers. Tyson cant blame becuse he should have been in his physical prime between age 29-36 like the best was

  • 35-0

    31 knockouts

    19 first round knockouts.

    Enough said .

  • Tyson was so different when he came on the scene looing so chiselled and squat compared to some of the portly, tall heavies around at the time. His punch rate, power and speed were also amazing in contrast to his peers. Despite his incredible competitive advantages though when some well trained heavies turned up meaning business he was a bit lost. Still a top 10 all time heavyweight in my view.

  • @b7r7u7c7e tyson never had a great prime atg against him when he himself was in his prime...He sure was great, but how great is allmost impossible to tell because of the opposition he faced in the early stages of his carreer...

  • @1978utreg I think Lewis had the same problem as Holmes. He came around the time when the pubic was in awe of Tyson. As Holmes came at the time of Ali even though Ali was way past him prime. Whats interesting about Tyson was although he was still young with out Rooney his skills was average. And by the time he got to lewis fat and out of shape. I think he was 234! Keep in mind fighters cut weight at the time so he was close to 240. On Lewis he also got no respect for being British.

  • @b7r7u7c7e i agree with you on the fact that tyson was a great athlete and way better then most people give him credit for. But Holmes was one of the best heavyweights ever and lewis didnt suck either...

  • Robin Givens.... the Yoko Ono of boxing.

  • Robin Givens is a cunt.

  • @GriffinNoel1 Lol You dont know what your talking about. Tyson in his prime was a complete boxer who was trained by Cus and Kevin in the Peek a boo style that was a complex system to master. If you look at his fights from 85 to 88 he was impossible to hit and was a brutal body puncher. Head hunter? Look at the Reggie fight were the first 55 sec was body shots. Knocked down Alfonso with a right to the body/uppercut. Spinks body shot, Green,Briggs,Tucker,Tubbs,Pinklon,Holmes,Bruno! Lewis sucked!
