  • You make it look so easy, you should do one about military recruiting! But seriously, why should I go to church?

  • Does it matter why? If someone invites you, either you decide to give it a try or not. Everyone is searching for something, and not only is church an option, I believe it to be the hope of the world. So... do you want to go to church with me?

  • *I'll* go to church with you Bram Svan!

  • "I've got the Jesus, HOW BOUT YOU?!"

I'm glad I don't have the "Jesus"... sounds like a horribly debilitating disease.

  • Btw, the guy in the video looks like Andy from The Office.

  • @Axyfication. We cannot take comfort in the belief that poverty makes it easier to enter heaven. For you it may be fine since you believe in heaven. In my life time, I want to see minimal poverty and suffering; I believe this is all there is. I'm not preparing to live after death, I'm preparing for those who live after my death to live better lives. I hope for less wealth disparity and more wealth. I don't care about going to heaven or fitting though pin heads. I don't fear Hell.

  • @Axyfication. Replace that Bible with books to use in teaching literacy skills, or instruction manuals (textual or picture based depending on literacy) to explain valuable skills like cleaning water, tips for staying healthy, how to dig wells, fix equipment or arrogate crops.

For me, seeing religion dispensed to poor ignorant people is a step backward, a step in the direction of keeping them poor and suffering, and a sinister method of increasing the size of ones flock.

  • @Axyfication. It is good in my eyes, that one more person sees the idiocy in banning contraception. Further, we should be able to agree that education on the topics of condoms and contraception would be revolutionary in these countries.

I never lacked an understanding of what it was that Christians believe. To me, it is upsetting that ANY space that could hold food or water is filled with Bibles. If it had to be a book why not something they could learn valuable skills from? (CONTINUED ABOVE)

  • @IanEColeman In regards to colonisation and the material rape of nations that are now considered to be "3rd world", I don't defend that. But, Christ himself said that it's harder for a wealthy man to enter the kingdom of heaven than it is for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle. Re. condoms & the Catholic church, I'm not going to defend their policy on AIDS prevention - I agree that banning condoms is dangerous and impractical.

  • @IanEColeman In reply to Christians sending bibles to 3rd world countries, they don't just send them, they also provide funding to improve health, sanitation, and other community needs. Nontheless, Christians believe that knowing Christ is the most important thing in this life and the next, and everything else is pretty meaningless without it. Placing your trust in God, and letting him take hold of your life may not guarantee fame or fortune, but he will not abandon you.

  • @chicagogurl630. Most of the worlds poorest and most hopeless countries are by majority christian. Why? Because the Europeans came in and spread their decease and religion and society, treated the people like dirt, abused the country, took control of what was valuable, and left the people to suffer. What you are left with is poor innocent people dying in the hands of monsters like mother teresa, or being mislead by the pope into not using condoms. Christian charity is utter nonsense.

  • @chicagogurl630. Very few of the people who are in need of help are getting it; and none of them get food, water, or shelter by prayer. More of the third world is demolished by religion and a history of missionary intrusion than those who are helped by the great organizations who bring help to those few they can. Many christians send bibles (which is the last thing they need). To people in these conditions with that education - the bible is the most "evil" book you could possibly hand them.

  • @IanEColeman I get why you believe that, but you haven't exactly searched for him. But I still respect what you believe, and thank you for (kindof) respecting what I believe. God saved my dad's life, kept my uncle from going crazy after my grandma died, and although many are going through poverty, don't forget about those who are doing something about it and are currently having their lives saved.
