I think why I like Allan and Serena's dancing strike a chord in our heart is that they are telling a story. chacha is about flirting between a romancing couple. If you take a look at their routine. Serena is shaking her feminine charm at Allan to draw his attention. The start to flirt and their relationship grows. At the end, they are in step with each other and became a couple. And that, is what cha-cha is about. IMO..

Judges are too "modern" and under pressure to favorite most "amazing" performance. Nothing to do for real dance,

No I meant the music at the beginning is a Salsa, Celia Cruz sings this song and she's a Salsa Queen. I know that afterwards it's the Cha-Cha...

ooo- okay- it's mambo since they dance on the 2- some people call mambo salsa on the 2- but salsa is on the 1 beat and mambo on the 2- mambo music is usually a bit slower- i <3 celia cruz's music!

Yea I realized it all the way after I left that comment.
Isn't that a Salsa though?

nope- some of the steps are similar- like the new yorker- but there's plenty of cha cha basics like the lock step, fan, etc- plus the music is cha cha
