This is a brief video of the weight loss operation called sleeve gastrectomy. The stomach is freed on its greater curve using the Harmonic Scalpel (ultrasonic energy source), following which the stomach is transected along its length with the endoscopic stapler. The staple-line is reinforced with Seamguard, a buttress material that helps make the stapler line bloodless.
