Heaves aka Recurrent Airway Obstruction can too get better, but it can also recur as the name applies.
A change or relocation of enviroment may have been what your horse needed.
Medications arent going to help all that much if the root of the problem still exists.
Drugs are not going to eliminate dust and mold spores in your horses surroundings(hay, bedding, etc)
For example, corticosteroids can help alleviate inflammation of a joint, but the arthritis is not cured by the treatment

geniva 10 What did you mean when you said"its going to be on its own"?Does that mean you will be giving it little care ?What happens when the refills are gone & you have to pay for the medication?Will you have the money?

As I understand it horses do better in dry climates if they have heaves. It does not "get better". Wegave lots of antihistamines and steroids with no success with this horse.

i want to purchase a horse that has mild heaves, ... Its going to be on its own, so there wont be dut or anything, and its going to come with its medication and all som refils... But i dont want to do something wrong that would make that horse die... Can it die from it, because it really isnt severe , but i know it sometimes it gets worst by time, Let me know. thx
