Crashing hurts, but the race is a fine place to crash. Traffic is nightmarish sometimes.

Mark Cavendish is 100% British

@mmcherrygirl jeez its cycling were watching here not football, cyclists are tough bastards. I had 2 road races this week and crashed in both at around 30mph, big deal, I got up, as did most of the other 40 people that went down, and we raced on. Yes this looks bad cause some women are screaming but at the end of the day this is road racing. If your scared of pushing, shoving and crashed then go buy a TT bike. Or if your keen like myself do both.

I think the point the nay-sayers are trying to make is that they probably thought that this was a motorbike crash - which is slightly more serious. If you think that somehow a motorcycle outfit and lid prepares you for coming off a bike at 100mph+ then think again. As for the various comments about skull fractures etc, might I suggest some adequate head protection rather than the laughable twat-helmets that most cyclists wear? Something with full face protection for example?

@mmcherrygirl pretty much. I had somebody brake in front of me when i broke away at the Robeson PA championship race. We were doing like 45 when he hit his brakes and took me out. I dislocated my hip and hit my head. What cat is your bf now?

@RoadVandalCycling this dude is obviously one of those douchebags that spouts crap out of his a** but has no videos of his own to expose himself to the rash comments like the ones he leaves.
My Boyfriend was in a crash a few yrs ago (Turkey Hill Country Classic), guy crashed in front of him, he went ove the guy and landed on his crank. The guy was unconcious and bleeding from his face, he ended up with 7 skull fractures, my BF 7 stitches in his thigh, he finished the race (13th).
It's bicycles little kids crash on them all the time and there fine. People need to chill out....

@flashganargerbarben Actually, it is a big deal, kids rarely go over 10 miles per hour whereas these guys are going between 25 - 35 miles per hour spinting to the finish, it's the end of the race, they speed up. If you don't think a sprint finish in a race is fast, search for 'Mark Cavendish' from Australia... that man can move.
