Mother and Puppies really cute Dandie Dinmont Terriers playing in Garden

Dandie Dinmont Terrier puppies aged about 12 weeks old having great fun playing with their mother in the garden. Note how she is teaching them basic Terrier skills and whilst being fairly rough is at the same time very gentle and does not hurt then in any way. Terrier puppies just love this type of rough and tumble and it is all part of their canine education. It was a real pleasure to see the mother "Scarlett" take such joy from her puppies and indeed she was a wonderful mother.
The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is one of the UK's rarest breeds. They are officially designated by the UK Kennel Club as a "Vulnerable Native Breed" due to their very low numbers.
A recent breed club survey suggested that there could be as few as 50 breeding females left in the UK. The Dandie is just one of a group of British and Irish dog breeds causing concern because of their low numbers, some of the others Terrier breeds include: Skye Terrier, Sealyham Terrier, Smooth Fox Terrier, Glen of Imaal Terrier, Irish Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Lakeland Terrier, Manchester Terrier, Norwich Terrier, Sealyham Terrier, Skye Terrier, Welsh Terrier and the Miniature Bull Terrier.

Beautiful video mum and pups look so happy I have a Dandie Bitch who is going to have Dandie pup to play with soon. Hopefully puppies in the future.I have been training Ruby and have put 5 short videos on youtube under Dandie training she is doing well and we are now going for the kennel club good citizen gold certificate as she has the bronze & silver.

Dandies are just the best breed ever!!!!

@coolitababy usually most people let them go at 8 weeks or a little bit longer, but i've seen some who let them go at 4 or 6 weeks, which i think is too young
