Just curious, but do you target shoot with these? Scope or iron sights? I have heard people say these sets are inconsistent with powder charge. Although it should be close to the same as weighing it seeing as it is by volume which is a set amount in the scooper. Any issues ever? Ever measured any of your groups?? I am genuinely curious. As I said, I got the full press kit, and it is great, but was thinking about getting one of these as a "back-up" for field use..

Depends how you scoop the powder.

I use a lee loader for three different calibres. I never touch the primers with my bare hands though, cause this can result in misfires. Apparently the oil in your fingers can ruin the primer. Use tweezers or wear surgical gloves.

How much did the kit cost you? I got a 303 and thinking it might be a bit cheaper than buying the rounds.

I think it's only if you touch the 'business' end as you say. I haven't had any problems since I stopped handling them with my bare hands.

I just started reloading with the lee anniversary kit.. With the press and the whole nine yards.. Handling many rounds through the last few years, I have never had a problem touching factory ammo primers. They always go boom.. So I don't know.. Cause I have heard people say they have problems, but I have never experienced any. Even buying miwall reloads, touching them, never had a problem. Unless maybe they were touching the actual business end of the primer maybe..

Strange...............I had quite a few of them when I first started hand loading and couldn't figure out what the problem was until several guys told me it was because I'd been handling the primers with bare hands. At that time however, I was only loading small rifle primers, so maybe that was the problem. Now I use industrial tweezers to handle all primers, just to be sure.

Anyway, many thanks for your comment.
