watching Godzilla movies without sub titles or dubbing was probably 70% why I started learning Japanese.

@mrcydonia Well, every g-film is already out on dvd, in my opinion I don't need really a blu-ray, just the regular dvd. By the time the new one comes out, many many people will be like "Yes!"

Or just sheer neglect and stupidity. The only real legal restrictions are on "King Kong vs Godzilla." Then there's some weird contractual loop hole with "Destroy All Monsters" and "Godzilla vs Megalon."
As for Biollante and 1985... There doesn't seem to be any reason at all! WTF, Toho!?

@mrcydonia The Japanese blu-rays of "Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: The Movie" and "Long And Dark Haired Monster Geharha" do have English subtitles. I have both. :) The Godzilla and Gamera Japanese blu-rays have no English subtitles because they are simply for the Japanese market and fans and English subtitles were not important.
I'm hoping that when the new American Godzilla movie comes out, we'll start getting more of the classic ones on Blu-ray in the U.S. I'm baffled as to why the Japanese Blu-rays don't include English subtitles. If they did, these discs would be perfect for American fans. Must be some stupid legal reason.

@mrcydonia "legal reason", well that, or it could be Toho Co, just doesn't know how to treat it's american fanbase like Tsuburaya does with the Ultraman franchise

@MrJoshy77 Because of the rights, and the company who owns them and their overwhelming unpopularity, unfortunately, over here.
