Phillip Sear: Handmaid Sketch IV

The last of a series of four short pieces created (very loosely indeed) from fragments of themes used in Playford's 'Musick's Handmaid' collection (1678).

The music u make is just beautiful, real pleasure to listen to. Your sketches will for sure influence my own extemporising (I also have some videos up). I wish I had an own Grand Piano, it's so rare that I am able to play at one at school :( anyway. Thank You for uploading your music, keep up your great work! =)

Thank you very much for your most kind comment. I have to say that I did not have my own grand piano until I was over 30 - if I had, maybe I would play better now! However, there are some very good upright pianos around, and there are some excellent videos on YouTube that have been made on them.

Thank you. I only used very small fragments of the underlying pieces, and would be hard-pressed to identify them myself. I may, as a seperate project, record some of the Musick's Hand-Maid pieces, but I would have to do some research on ornamentation etc. first!
