This is a video of my children and I shooting an AR-15, Springfield Armory 1911 .45 and a couple of .22s near Waldo, New Mexico. This video was taken on April 9, 2009 while we were on a camping trip to Colorado and New Mexico. We had a great time shooting before the Santa Fe County sheriff showed up to inform us that someone had complained. He did inform us that we were not breaking any laws because we were on BLM land, were far enough away from any roads and were shooting in a safe area with hills on 3 sides of us to absorb and ricochets. We decided to pack up at this point and get back on the road. It was a great time.
I was really proud of my kids. I have taught them proper gun safety and they were very conscientious.

  • I remember shooting with my dad. Probably some of the best times I can remember.

  • I never got to do that with my dad, but I hope that my kids remember those times like you do. Thanks for watching.

  • Sad to think and hard to believe that there are civilians, military, law enforcement and elected government officials that would love to take all of this away forever...

  • I am with you on that Sam. Thanks for watching

  • either that girls really buff or springfields got no recoil whatsoever o.o

  • She really does a great job. After this outing she told me she wants a pink Cricket .22. I thought that was pretty cool!

  • I also shot regularly with my boys. Watching these videos, I only have one suggestion. Get them some eye and ear protection. I have seen guns exploding. Not pretty. $10 to save your childs eyesight is definitely worth it. Happy shooting!!

Get high velocity ammo for .22. It will help with the action cycling properly. :
