Helicopters are used by @PolitieAA to search for people who do not want to be located, by use of infra-red heat seeking probes that would spot someone hiding out in a garbage tip.

The incident took place on or about 22:00 hrs in the #Haarlemmerbuurt, and Gouden Real neighbourhood, on Amsterdam's island neighbourhood adjacent to the River IJ.

The Amsterdam Politie @politieaa #politieaa operation seemed to focus on the #Houtmankade to #Westerdok (to IJ) and across via the #Prinseneiland and into the #GoudenReal down on the waterfront.

Police on the scene would not comment to the press, referring them to protocol regarding statements from the communications officers and constables only being made available at this time.
