Jeffrey Biegel plays Islamey live in 1992 on a Yamaha CFIII. It was the best Islamey ever. Unfortunately only have our memory of what it looked like. He was younger at that time than we are now. For all the warbling, hissing, lousy microphone position & AGC of the tape recorders in those days, it actually sounds better than most modern Goo Tube videos.

  • Hmm--having a 'junior moment'--where did I play this one?

  • @biegel88 It was in Livermore CA on Oct 17, 1992. Someone said you voiced the piano yourself & it did sound incredible.

  • @heroineworshipper Wow--yes, I remember now!

  • Incredible Jeffrey! And you actually sound like you are having fun playing it!

  • @snaaptaker There is a short version on a movie soundtrack titled, Something to Believe IN. It is on the Aleph label, with Lalo Schifrin's 'Concerto no. 2' (1992)--wonderful concerto inspired by the 1492 Columbus journey to America.

  • @biegel88 Thanks for the info. Was it, by any chance, recorded? Or might you yet possibly record it? I'd love to hear it.

  • In reply to snaaptaker: I did premiere the arrangement with orchestra in 2001, with the American Symphony Orchestra conducted by the late Vahktang Jordania in NY's Avery Fisher Hall.

  • Brilliant!

  • Where/when was this?
