HRC will mourn the loss of Bob Hattoy as we remember his activism, sense of humor and dedication to the equality of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Here is Bob Hattoy speaking at the 1992 Democratic National Convention.

Clinton was such a turncoat on GLBT rights. The POS proposed and signed off on the nonsensical "don't ask, don't tell" policy, rather than just making it completely legal to serve openly as a gay man/woman. He's also the one, don't forget, who passed DOMA. I can't believe he betrayed his supporters like that.

Wow, I never knew that this happened in 1992. But well I wasn't really into politics, when I was 7 or did I even know what the heck the President really did. But it is so outstanding that in '92 that this topic was being talked about. WAY TO GO.

The '92 political conventions were an incredible study in contrasts. In the Republican one, the gay community was publicly bashed and villianized. In the Democratic one, the gay community was welcomed unlike never before as members of a larger family. In the upcoming election, I hope the Republicans will have finally learned a lesson,... but judging from the CPAC applause of Coulter's most recent hatemongering, I am doubtful they won't yet again use gays as a wedge issue.
