Describes how to make your Redrum beats more intersting. Gives you more control over stuff.

Also, I understand what you can do with Redrum by itself. I find mixing more intuitive, easier, and more effective (with 4 aux send and returns). I've been dealing with people complaining about this for some time...

  • No Ben. spending more time playing piano makes you.... a better piano player. It doesn't make your 'music' better.

From what I hear on this demo (yes, I realise it's meant to be simple....but) you seem fairly uncomfortable transferring your musical 'talent' (cough) into a digital format.

Your replies on this vid seem somewhat arrogant too.

Post some of your Reason tunes up. Let's have a laugh....

  • @phuturephunk01 Yes, having more knowledge of music theory does help my music. Jealous much?

I put up these tutorials to help people, so if you are not being helped by them, just keep your pleasant, mature thoughts to yourself. I have never met you yet I already strongly dislike you. ("Let's have a laugh" - What, are you four years old?)

  • It's also a play on the fact that 'redrum' is 'murder' backwards :)

  • Terrible seq

  • it really didn't help me erase it .......

  • awesome video. I would agree its easier to use Aux sends for effects. But can be confusing whether to turn the amount up on the aux level or whether to leave it and adjust it on the actual effect itself. But this has been very informative. Thanks

  • Yeah auto correct is a bitch.

  • If you don't understand why you should route your red rum to its own mixer you haven't gotten very far with your drums. If you do it this way you can add insert effects to your drum channel before it gets to the mixer. Compressor on kick for instance. A must have. Then you use the mixer to turn up and down the kick. Not the red rum level because then your changing the amount sent into your compressor and messing up your settings. How about equine a snare? Do that without a mixer. I made a combi

  • @trapakeepr Ahaha and yes Murder has one 'D', which makes him correct and you blind.

    Re drum - murd er

    ...

  • Hi. i can't make sound the subtractor along with the kick in redrum, in channel 1 of redrum do you have a kick sound on it? I hope you understood what i'm trying to ask. Thanks.

  • @trapakeepr Propellerhead has at least one tutorial ("Kong Basics") where he pronounces it red-rum. Vindicated!

  • @BenCheddar2 nice response :)

  • Look someone help me, mitchell_d12@msn.com << my email, will someone please just explain quite simply how to put a pattern onto the timeline, cos no matter what i do, i could even have the timeline empty and when i press play, everything (my drums, synth, bass.. whatever all plays at the same time WHY? :( i just want each one to kick in at a certain time is that so hard? :(
