pits are not good gaurd dogs,but good protection dogs.They will let people on your property alot of times,but if anything harm you directly they will die trying to protect you.big difference.

Im sorry but what Pits do not make great guard dogs how do i know i own one with a GSD and a Bullmastiff My pit gets owned by both of them Pits are strong but thats not there Main attribute the speed and stamina is there main attribute a Rotties main attribute is its Power and size as well as a Bullmastiff a GSD is Power and Agile Pits are great dogs but they dont have the most powerfull of jaws around they are only good fighting against another pit anything bigger would leave it in a mess.

All you need is the dog to make noise and the owner brings out is 9mm and that take care of protection. Sorry that your pitbull is no a good guard dog. I have one that is similar to yours she is not a good guard dog, but if you see the other 5 you will change your mind.
