Ellen is 9yrs old with spinal muscular atrophy. She getting apower whelchair which she is so excited about but we cannot afford to build the ramp. I stay at home with her,she is ventalator dependent and confined to bed and wheelchair so her dad is the only one working. Unfortunately, we cant afford what she needs to get the chair in and out of the house. If we cant get the chair in the house medicade wont pay for the chair. We tried every avenue but no funding yet. Time is running out and Ellen wants this more than anytahing she is so beautiful and all she wants is to be able to go outside and play with her sister and be able ato go places with her family..please help!!!
ASSISTANCE PROVIDED: On Saturday, August 8th several volunteers from the community drove from Greenville SC to Candler, NC and built Ellen a ramp. The ramp was designed by architect Robert M. Seel. Atlanta Bread company donated lunch for all of the volunteers and Hearstep paid for the lumber and materials needed to build this ramp.
