    It was a small electric motor from one of those hand-held mini vacuums. I don't know any specs.

    I have a tutorial video for how to make one of these, you should check it out if you like this project :)

  • If you sharpened that screwdriver and shaped it like a real lathe chisel, it would cut a lot better, and since it works pretty good now, you would likely get really good results.

    Just be careful shaping the tool as to not get it too hot or it will lose temper and become soft.

    You would do well to add a tool rest as well.
