Uncut Match from the 2nd Stage of the 2006 Archery World Cup in Antalya(TUR). Men Individual Recurve Bronze Match / M. FRANGILLI (ITA) vs Y. HRISTOV (BUL)
1. Archery is divided in: bare bow, recurve, compound. And this is for good reason. I have tried all types of archery and let me tell you that all of them require the archery skills that you say only the bare bow require.
2. Only recurve archery is accepted as an olympic sport because is more popular than bare bow; compound bow is not accepted because is considered to be too technological.
I know what you're saying, but, "In 1995 an event occurred that shocked the world and expanded the boundaries of human consiousness forever. Roger Bannister of England, an athlete who refused to abandon an immpossible dream, ran the mile in 3:59. Until that day it was believed that no human being was capable of running a mile in less than 4min. It was a medical fact that man was not biologically or structurally designed to run at such speeds--a fact that Bannister chose to ignore."
You may train years and years, day in, day out with a traditional bow. Nobody will ever shoot a 1350 at a FITA-round with a traditional bow.
You can compare Traditional archery and Olympic archery only to a certain extent. Two things, for example, that are not to be compared are results (in points) and level. No disrespect towards Traditional archery, I like it as well, I only prefer Olympic archery.
If you don't like Olympic archery, then don't watch it, don't do it. Ignore it, if you will. But please, I am so tired of angry traditional archers. It's really getting old.
The organisation of the Olympics IS NOT reading youtube messages, to go look and see what's new, what's hot in sport to consider eventual new disciplines in the next Olympics.
I'v watched a lot of videos the last weeks, and read a lot of reactions of people. It is really really unbelievable how many times olympic archers are attaced by traditional bow archers.
Leave us alone!!! We're good people, please don't judge.
"as far as I'm concerned, any 'release-aid' or sight or other gizmo is cheating,"
Robinofleiceste.....who is it cheating against? You said using stabilizers and sights is cheating, but how can it be cheating if your competition is using the same equipment?

"If it's possible, it's been done.
If it's impossible, it will be done."
Yo, all I'm saying is "Impossible is nothing."
