Illinois's ban on carrying firearms outside the home or business came under attack on a new front Friday. The National Rifle Association asked a federal judge in Southern Illinois to immediately declare it unconstitutional.

Illinois is the only state without a Conceal Carry Law! The right to bear arms is a constitutional right and also a "God" given right!

The fact of the matter is, everytime gun control is initiated the crime rate substantially rises - it never goes down. Washington DC and Chicago have high crime rates and both have basically banned firearms from civilians - how is gun control working? All guns are banned in Mexico, but tens of thousands of civilians have been murdered with guns - hows that working out? The states with low crime rates have easy access to firearms, criminals do not fear police, they do fear armed citizens!

The people need to get involved and this is an issue that is important to everyone. Write letters to your state legislators, senators and call to inform them of your concern. Every state now has a Conceal Carry Weapons (CCW) permitting process of some type. One problem is the liberal politicians, mostly out of Chicago who blame crime on a firearm rather than the criminal element. Mayor Emmanuel is also a problem, a vicious anti gunner and has alreadt tried to influence his anti gun agenda!

i just found ou that the law didnt pass from 65 yes votes out of 71 i think it is a mistake in illinois giving crimminals the upper hand..

IL Phelps-D is very close to having a veto-proof majority in support of this bill. Keep the pressure on in IL to finally get your right to carry! The US Supreme Court says the 2nd Amendment applies throughout the country. Daley and his cronies will just have to get used to it.

I'm watching this bill closely. I don't know how they can justify being the only state with no carry option (Wisconsin has open carry). Crime rates in Chicago would plummet if the criminals knew that an armed citizen might fight back. Right now the only people with guns in Chicago are the criminals...and the politicians WANT it that way!

A few days after mayor Daley rejected the Supreme-Court law that Chicago citizens can carry guns, DALEY'S OWN BODY-GUARD WAS SHOT:
1) IN FRONT OF HIS OWN HOUSE
2) WHILE WASHING HIS CAR
3) WHILE WEARING HIS POLICE-UNIFORM
4) AFTER HE'D JUST GOT OFF WORK BODY-GUARDING MAYOR DALEY!!!!!!!!
